Flowers are so important in so many ways apart from beautifying the surrounding. Flowers help to remove harmful toxins from the air, increase happiness as well as reduce depression and anxiety just to mention a few.
Children love to see flowers and children love to play with flowers. Flower makes them happy.
Jesus Mission discovered this and it is one of the developments we are doing in four of our orphanages. So far, Kanjedza orphanage in Chikwawa District is the one that has benefitted more from this flower planting. The flower gardens are planted in front of the child play murals on the walls.
These beautiful flowers were bought in Blantyre closer to Stella Maris Secondary School.
Jenifer Chilongo and her husband are the proud owners of Miracle Nursery. They named the garden after their child Miracle Chilongo.
Jesus Mission always buys from them to support the business and find them to be very pleasant and helpful with choosing the plants. They are also experts in knowing what plants to choose and the length of the plants to be able to formulate a specific garden.
Miracle Nursery has a fair price for their flowers and the plants are taken care of well. It is not only flowers they sell, but manures for plants and clay pots decorated with flowering plants.
We are yet to plant so many flowers in all the orphanages namely; Amazing Grace in Mulanje, Chiswe in Chigumula and Ndilande orphanage in Blantyre.
We have started vegetable gardens in Chiswe, Amazing Grace, and Kanjedza.
It is an amazing sight to see the manifestation of God’s Holy Hands in the formation of fruits and many vegetables.
We glorify God in His works.
